Efrain Hernandez, President of Superior Concrete Solutions

After high school, I joined the United States military and served at Fort Benning, Georgia. My next chapter brought me to the Enterprise, Alabama area to attend Troy State University, and this community became home. My career took me through real estate, property management, and construction management before I became a construction superintendent for a local luxury home builder.

But the project that changed my life was a restaurant I built for a personal friend right here in town. During that project, we installed our first metallic epoxy floor—pioneering this work in Southeast Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. Watching the colors move and the surface transform, I fell in love with the entire process. Twelve years later, I’m still chasing that same excitement, one custom floor at a time.

This year, I had the honor of receiving nationally recognized Golden Pour Awards from my peers for my metallic epoxy and concrete overlay work. To have fellow craftsmen recognize something I’ve poured so much of myself into is incredibly meaningful.

But let me tell you who deserves the spotlight: my crew. These are the people beside me through the early mornings, long days, late nights, and all the details that make our work special. They have built this company with me from the ground up. Every award carries their effort, their pride, and their commitment. I could never take that credit alone.

Outside of work, my greatest loves are my children and my soon-to-be wife. Together, we have six children and five grandchildren under the age of three—so life is full of little footsteps, big personalities, and very few quiet moments! And the beautiful girl beside me in this picture? That’s Luna Danielle Hernandez: my faithful companion and our official Quality Control Manager. She takes her supervision seriously, especially when treats are involved.

If you know me, you know I bring a big personality, a sense of humor, and high expectations to whatever I do. I love encouraging my people, getting the details right, and seeing a homeowner’s face when their vision finally comes to life. To me, this work is personal: my name, my team, and our pride go into every project.

Above everything, I know I could not have built this life without the grace, mercy, and favor of God. He has carried me through every chapter and blessed me with people who make the journey worthwhile. It’s a full life, a beautiful life, and one I’m deeply grateful to live.
